LGC renews NSPO partnership, joins PAC Symposium in Japan

Japan: LGC renews NSPO partnership, joins PAC Symposium

LGC recently took two important steps to provide further support for the Japanese sports nutrition industry and to provide further guidance for Japanese athletes and sport.

It renewed its partnership with the Nippon Sports Promotion Organisation (NSPO) and then delivered a presentation on Informed Sport and Informed Choice to the 1St International Symposium of Productive Ageing Consortium (PAC) in Japan.

The agreement with NSPO, formerly known as the Japan Coaches Association (JCA), includes the ‘Informed Choice Award’, which recognizes outstanding anti-doping contributions within the NSPO membership.

LGC was also given an opportunity to share its unique expertise on protecting athletes from inadvertent doping by delivering a presentation to PAC’s first symposium.

Terence O’Rorke, LGC’s Business Development Manager for Japan and Asia, gave a lecture on the global protection from inadvertent doping provided to athletes and sport through the Informed Choice and Informed Sport programs.

Inadvertent doping continues to be a significant challenge to athletes and sport across the world and the presentation explained how Informed Choice and Informed Sport allowed athletes to complete due diligence so they have maximum protection under the World Anti-Doping Code.

The PAC Symposium was attended by leading sports nutrition brands in Japan, many of which have products certified on the Informed Choice and Informed Sport programs.
